26.2
So I ran a marathon.
Four plus hours of continual running throughout the city of Chicago and I can officially call myself a Finisher. It was overwhelming and exhausting and amazing all at the same time. The feeling of coming out of the start tunnel with Columbus Drive and the Chicago skyline ahead of me, thousands of people embarking on the same journey as I was, I quite simply cannot put words to it.
When I crossed the finish line hours later, my sister by my side, the one word that kept coming to mind was "incredulous." Never would I have ever thought I could complete a marathon. But I did, and I loved it. Invincible would be another word that came to mind, albeit that one popped into my head hours later when I could properly think and hear again.
So now when I feel as if there is an insurmountable obstacle in my path, I have 26.2 reasons that say that I can bust on through it.
